ITINERARY
Day 1: Arrive – Kolkata (By Flight)
Arrive at International airport, after traditional welcome by our representative would assist you at Kolkata & transfer to hotel for check in.
Kolkata, the city of joy, is the largest metropolis in India. The city was the capital of British India until 1912 and still has a Victorian imprint on its architecture and streets.
Day 2: Kolkata
Early in the morning visit the flower market on the banks of the river Hoogly in Howrah and take a boat cruise (optional). Afternoon tour of the city including the Victoria Memorial, St Paul’s Cathedral, the Marble Palace and the Indian Museum, with one of the best collections of Indian art.
Day 3: Kolkata – Darjeeling
A short flight to Bagdogra and drive to Darjeeling, often referred to as the Queen of Hill stations. Darjeeling is the centre of India’s most celebrated tea growing district with picturesque views of the snowy peaks of Kanchenjunga. Stay for three nights.
Day 4: Darjeeling
Early morning drive to Tiger Hill to see the sunrise over Mount Everest and Kanchenjunga peak, the third-highest mountain in the world (subject to weather conditions). On your return visit Ghoom Buddhist Monastery. Afternoon visit Observatory hill, the Himalayan Mountaineering Institute and a local tea estate.
Day 5: Darjeeling
Day at leisure with an option to take a toy train ride to Ghoom or Kurseong (subject to train being in service).
Day 6: Darjeeling – Pelling
Morning scenic drive from Darjeeling to Pelling, a pleasant little town with magnificent views. Afternoon visit Pemyangtse Monastery. One night stay.
Day 7: Pelling – Gangtok
Drive to Gangtok, capital of Sikkim, set amidst the clouds and mists of splendorous Himalayas, with colourful lamas, exotic monasteries and prayer flags. Two night stay.
Day 8: Gangtok
Morning visit to Rumtek Monastery, the largest in Sikkim and noted for its carved and painted woodwork. Later visit the Enchey Monastery, Do-Drul Chorten, an imposing white stupa, and the Namgyalak Institute of Tibetology.
Day 9: Gangtok – Kalimpong
A pleasant drive to Kalimpong set among the rolling foothills and deep valleys of the Himalayas. The day is free to visit orchid nurseries, churches and monasteries, housing a number of rare Tibetan Buddhist scriptures. Stay for one night.
Day 10: Kalimpong – Kolkata
Transfer to Bagdogra airport for a short flight to Kolkata. One night stay.
Day 11: Kolkata – Onward destination
Transfer to the International airport in Kolkata towards your onward destination.
